CROWNE Plaza and Holiday Inn Manila Galleria join forces with IHG Hotels and Resorts and IHG Philippines to celebrate the colorful and joyful Pride Month 2022 with the theme “Stronger Together” promoting diversity, equity and inclusion on the workplace and in the community.
Highlights of activities include The Pride Talk on June 22 and the Pride Day Friday Parade around Ortigas Center on June 24.
It was also the start of hotel employees joining Out and Open, one of IHG’s employee resource groups for colleagues who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or questioning ( LGBTQ+) and allies.
Out and Open provides a platform for all employees, members, and allies to engage in LGBTQ+-focused conversations, training, and celebrations to foster an inclusive workplace culture and environment.
Guest speakers for The Pride Talk were Mickey Alonso, Luxury Specialist from IHG Philippines and Suzy Lee, Chief Data and Technology Officer from JG Summit Holdings Inc., who shared their knowledge and experiences discussing important topics on SOGIESC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identification, Gender Expression and Sex Characteristics), LGBTQIA+ guest management and inspirational stories about acceptance, empowerment, self-care and self-love.
On the last Friday afternoon in June, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn associates showed their support for LGBTQAI+ members at their first-ever Pride Parade at Ortigas Center.
Gibeth Gloria, Executive Assistant Director, said that at IHG, associates and colleagues do more and excel even more at work when they embrace their truth and uniqueness, and when they feel accepted, understood, and belong.
