On Thursday, March 24, the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce held the grand opening of the Holiday Inn Express and Suites, located at 16 Bethel Drive.
In a short pre-dedication ceremony, Dawson County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mandy Power welcomed hotel owners and employees to the community, thanking them for bringing a much-needed business to Dawson County.
“I can’t tell you how thrilled we are with the long-awaited ribbon cutting here at the Holiday Inn Express,” Power said. “We needed and wanted something of this caliber, and we’re thrilled to promote it and have Holiday Inn Express here in our community.”
Holiday Inn Express and Suites offers several room types with all the necessities and amenities guests need to stay comfortably away from home. The hotel also offers breakfast, coffee, and a fitness center.
Dawsonville Holiday Inn Express General Manager Freddy Burch thanked community members in attendance for the groundbreaking ceremony, saying he is proud to be a part of the new venture in the Dawson County community.
“It is very dear to me and close to my heart to be recently named a member of this establishment; I’m honored,” Burch said. “And this participation is wonderful – thank you.”
Neal Patel, one of the hotel’s owners, echoed Burch’s gratitude to the community, saying that although the opening process ultimately took a while, he and his family are excited to open. finally their location in Dawson.
“It’s a great family business,” Patel said. “It took us a while, two years, but it worked really well and we’re happy to be here in Dawsonville.”
