Holiday Inn London Oxford Circus to get £34million upgrade

A Holiday Inn hotel near Oxford Street in London is to undergo a £34million makeover in a bid to reposition the property as an upscale boutique hotel.

The Holiday Inn London Oxford Circus is located on Welbeck Street in the capital’s Marylebone district, approximately half a mile from Oxford Circus tube station.

Juniper Hotels Holding Limited was loaned the sum by Leumi UK to finance the acquisition of the leasehold interest and the refurbishment of the Edwardian property.

As part of the work, the number of rooms in the hotel will be increased to 171.

According to the IHG website the hotel has six new air-conditioned conference rooms, as well as a fitness centre, all-day dining Oliver’s restaurant and The Londoner lobby bar.

Soraya Shamji, hotel consultant at Leumi UK, said “the outlook for well-specified assets in central locations is positive as consumer demand and investor interest in hotels rebounds post-pandemic”, while David Yeadon , Executive Director of Real Estate Debt Advisory at SPF Private Clients, commented:

“We are delighted to have supported our long-standing client in the successful financing of this new London venture. Leumi UK’s industry expertise and relationship-driven approach were key to this project.

“Prime central London hotel assets have rebounded dramatically, and in the safe hands of Westmont Hospitality, the purchase and repositioning of this hotel should be a resounding success.”
