Planning on skiing or snowboarding this week while the kids are off? Holiday Valley encourages people to purchase lift tickets before leaving home.
It is normally a very busy week in Holiday Valley. With skiing and snowboarding conditions as perfect as possible and many children on break from school, this is the perfect time to ski and snowboard.
Now add to that the fact that so many people have been locked in their homes to avoid spreading COVID. They are ready to go out and have some fun. And frankly, skiing and snowboarding are a naturally socially distant sport.
But, if you’re planning on having fun this week, Holiday Valley in Ellicottville encourages people to get their lift tickets before they leave their homes. They may not be able to fit you in if you drive there and they are already full.
Yesterday (Sunday) they sold out all lift tickets for day and night skiing and they predict it could happen again later this week.
It is encouraging to know that business is booming for these ski resorts. Over the past two years, it felt like it was difficult to have a really good season. It wasn’t that we wouldn’t have snow, but we were experiencing snow patterns and then warming. So the falling snow normally melted within a few days so the conditions weren’t good.
Glad to see they are selling! This is great news for these local businesses and it’s good to know that people are leaving their homes again!
