The 512-room Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium, located in the city’s Tiong Bahru district, has appointed Michiel de Kleer as general manager.
Michiel, a Dutch national who grew up in Europe, the Caribbean and South America, has over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry with a strong background in food and beverage.
He has worked with renowned properties such as Sofitel Metropole Hanoi, Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers and Crowne Plaza Changi Airport.
Michiel joined IHG in September 2013 as Executive Assistant Director of Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park, before moving to Singapore as Crowne Plaza Changi Airport EAM in February 2016.
During his 3.5 year tenure at the award-winning Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, Michiel played a pivotal role in traffic and volume management for the hotel’s new tower extension.
Prior to his last appointment, Michiel’s most recent role was as General Manager of the Indigo Bangkok Wireless Road Hotel, a position he held for more than three years.
“With the resumption of large-scale travel, meetings and events, I am excited to implement strategic plans and deliver experiences that meet the needs and demands of travelers, transitioning the Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium to its next phrase,” Michiel said.
