Pro-invest Hotels is on track to open Australia’s first-ever Holiday Inn Express and Suites in May, in partnership with IHG Hotels and Resorts.

Holiday Inn Express and Sunshine Coast Suites will soon open in the town of Maroochydore after a year-long construction project.

“We are delighted to open a Holiday Inn Express & Suites on the Sunshine Coast and believe this is a positive sign of the travel industry’s recovery and highlights Pro-invest Hotel’s significant growth with four new exciting hotels set to open in May alone,” said Shantha de Silva, COO of Pro-invest Hotels.

“With the motto ‘Less boring, more exploring’, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sunshine Coast is the perfect place to stay for those looking to experience all the wonders this diverse region has to offer, from pristine beaches to forests subtropical tropics and unique coastal villages.

The property’s 181 rooms and suites offer fast Wi-Fi, work desks, premium bedding and the brand’s signature ‘Express Recharge’ which includes a pillow menu, blackout blinds and showers powerful jets.

IHG Australasia and Pacific Managing Director Matthew Tripolone said the property is a wonderful addition to the Sunshine Coast.

“This hotel is not only the first Suites product for the Express brand in Australia, it is also the ninth opening of Holiday Inn Express with Pro-invest in Australia and New Zealand – and a testament to our continued partnership,” Tripolone said.

“I’m confident the hotel’s coastal charm and smart, savvy approach to travel will be favorites with travelers as we step out again.”

The Holiday Inn Express and Suites Sunshine Coast aims for a high NABERS energy and water rating, with energy-efficient amenities and systems used throughout. The hotel is also phasing out single-use plastics and will use bulk amenities rather than single-use products.

Additionally, the hotel’s “A Greener Stay” initiative allows guests to opt out of housekeeping services when staying two or more nights to reduce energy, water and of waste.
