The Karnataka government has declared a public holiday for schools and colleges in Bangalore today. The holiday was declared due to heavy rains the city witnessed on Monday. The announcement was made by Bengaluru Urban DC, K Srinivas.
“Heavy rains caused waterlogging in several parts of Bangalore and several trees were uprooted on Monday. A public holiday was declared on Tuesday for schools and colleges in Bangalore due to heavy rains,” Srinivas told the ANI news agency.

Pre-university schools and colleges are closed for today. Heavy rain is also expected to continue in Bangalore district today. Despite declared school holidays due to heavy rains, many schools were already closed due to Ganesh Chaturthi 2022.

According to ANI, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai visited flood affected areas in Ramnagar district and also inspected crop damage due to heavy rains, which caused the lake to rupture. Bakshi in the city.

The Chief Minister addressed the problems of the people and promised to work to bring relief to them. The authorities have also received instructions to immediately begin the repair works of Lake Bakshi.

Alongside Chief Minister, Minister of Revenue R.Ashok, Minister of Higher Education and District in charge, Dr. CNAshwath Narayana, Former CM and Channapatna MLA HDKumaraswamy and Ramanagar MLA Anitha Kumaraswamy were also present along with him to assess the situation caused by the floods.

India’s meteorological department, IMD, has predicted heavy rains for southern peninsular India, Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and northeastern India over the next five days.
