The month of April has some important public holidays. For example, all banks were closed on April 1 (Thursday) due to the closure of accounts. In addition, April 2 (Friday) was a statutory holiday because of Good Friday. April 21 (Wednesday) is also a public holiday in various states due to Ram Navmi (Chaite Dashain) / Garia Puja.
There are a few other state specific holidays. These are:
April 13 (Tuesday): Public holiday on the account of Gudhi Padwa / Telugu New Year / Ugadi Festival / Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba) / 1st Navratra / Baisakhi.
April 15: public holiday on the occasion of Himachal’s Day / Bengali New Year’s Day / Bohag Bihu / Sarhul.
Outside of these days, banks will also be closed on the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays.
