SARATOGA SPRINGS — City police are investigating an allegation that a gun was fired in the Holiday Inn parking lot early Friday morning.

But all they have to do is a worn handgun casing, some broken glass, and a woman in an SUV.

Police were called to the Broadway hotel at 4.50am after a male guest reported that shots had been fired. The man told police he saw a vehicle leave the rear parking lot just after a gun was allegedly fired.

Officers found broken glass and a bullet shell in the area where the man said the shot was fired. They determined that a woman in a blue Toyota Rav 4 was involved and found the SUV and the woman – who had been injured by the broken glass but was not a hotel guest – shortly afterwards.

The incident remained a mystery Friday night. No victim has been identified and no one has been arrested.

Anyone with information about the shooting should contact police at 518-584-1800 or 518-584-TIPS. Police say those who call with tips will remain anonymous.
