Sue’s Chic closes after the holidays – Valley Times-News

WEST POINT – A longtime Valley restaurant that recently moved to West Point has announced it has closed.

Sue’s Chic, who has operated in Valley for over 30 years, moved to downtown West Point in May.

The company lived in the old Joe’s Tex Mex building after the company closed in January.

“We are sad to announce that Sue’s Chic will not reopen after the holidays due to health issues and circumstances beyond our control,” a post on the Sue’s Chic – West Point Facebook page said Thursday. “The lease was bought out by members of my family and will be Smokey Pit BBQ. [Y]”all come out and support our family members and keep us in your prayers.”

According to an earlier Valley Times-News report, Sue’s posh owner Robert Cox bought the company in February 2018, while it was in Valley. He was a former employee of the restaurant.

In May, they moved to West Point with the idea of expanding and giving the restaurant a different feel.

“We closed the one in Valley and consolidated it with this one,” Cox told the newspaper in May. “So that we could grow and do something else with it, we took it and created a new concept in a different city. No building in the valley could support what we wanted to do.

The newspaper contacted representatives for Sue’s Chic for comment, but had no response.
