UPS to hire 12,000 Southern California workers for holiday season – San Gabriel Valley Tribune

UPS is looking to hire 12,000 Southern California workers as the delivery giant prepares for the 2022 holiday season.

The local hires are part of the company’s plan to recruit more than 100,000 seasonal drivers, parcel managers and driver helpers nationwide to support the expected increase in parcel volume.

Full-time and part-time openings are available on multiple shifts, with wages ranging from $15.50 to $23 per hour, depending on the job.

Seasonal contract car drivers start at $21 an hour and tractor-trailer driver positions start at $23 an hour, plus a $1,000 signing bonus at select locations in the region, a declared by UPS.

The digital-first hiring process takes approximately 25 minutes from online application to interview and 80% of positions are non-interviewable.

“We’ve made our hiring process as easy as possible,” said Nando Cesarone, who leads the company’s US operations.

UPS said its seasonal jobs are a proven path to a career with the company, with nearly 35,000 seasonal employees gaining permanent positions in 2021.

UPS said its full-time package drivers average $95,000 a year, plus an additional $50,000 in health, welfare and retirement benefits. After four years, drivers earn about $42 an hour, officials said.

Eligible employees can also earn up to $25,000 for college tuition and expenses through UPS’s Earn & Learn program. Part-time employees are eligible for reimbursement on the day they are hired. UPS has invested $30 million in education assistance programs in 2021.

Those interested in the various openings can visit to search and apply for jobs in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties.
